Kalyana Venkateswara Temple - Srinivasa Mangapuram

The Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Temple is a sacred Hindu shrine located in Srinivasa Mangapuram, a town near Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. This temple is of great significance to devotees, particularly for those seeking blessings for a happy married life.

History and Legend

The temple is linked to a popular legend concerning Lord Venkateswara. After his marriage to Goddess Padmavathi, the divine couple is said to have stayed at the ashram of the sage Agastya in Srinivasa Mangapuram for six months. It is believed that Lord Venkateswara chose to reside here instead of immediately returning to the Tirumala hills, as it was considered inauspicious for a newly married couple to climb a hill.

Because of this association, the temple is known as Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple, and it is a popular pilgrimage site for newlyweds. Many couples visit this temple to seek the blessings of the divine couple for a prosperous and harmonious married life.

The temple is an ancient structure, with its history tracing back to the 14th century. It was under the control of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for a period before being handed over to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) in 1981, which now manages the temple and its rituals.
